Student Experience

Our personal development programme is exceptional, equipping students with the skills and values they need to make a meaningful impact in society after Sixth Form. Through our Momentum programme, students gain essential life skills to help them succeed in the future.

Our enrichment programme offers endless possibilities, allowing students to pursue activities as varied as Go-Kart STEM projects, British Sign Language, and TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language).

Student-led committees curate an exciting calendar of events, including quizzes, games, movie nights, and even a Christmas Market for the local community. Each year, we raise thousands of pounds for various charities, from the Red Crescent to the Skelmanthorpe Community Pantry food bank.

We emphasise that learning extends beyond the classroom. Our departments organise a range of trips and activities aligned with students' subjects and interests, such as history trips to Birkenau - Auschwitz. Students also gain valuable work experience throughout Sixth Form, with an additional dedicated week at the end of Year 12, where placements include opportunities with McLaren Formula One and the NHS.

At Shelley College Sixth Form, we are committed to working with students to ensure they gain the experience and skills essential for future success.
