Student Leadership Team
The lower school Executive Student Leadership Team is made up of four elected students from Year 11. These students take the role of senior students and they each lead one of our four Student Leadership Committees. There is also a larger group of students who are appointed as prefects and ambassadors who work together with the four executive members to make up the Student Leadership Team.
The four sub-committees are:
- Mental Health, Wellbeing, Equality and Anti Bullying
- Quality of Education and Commitment to Learning
- Charity and Local Community
- Environment and the school community.
Over the last few years, students have worked hard to achieve various awards including the Investors in Pupils award; in 2020 the school was awarded a Gold Award from the Anti Bullying Alliance; and student committees have raised thousands of pounds for charity and donated over 1000 items to the local food bank. Student leaders are well trained and will soon be taking part in training about British democracy in preparation for organising a whole school democracy week event, Diana Award Anti Bullying Ambassador Training and Peer Mentoring Training.
Student leaders and other students interested in politics have visited the Houses of Parliament in London, met with the local MP on numerous occasions both in London and at school, and have organised whole school events like ‘Hello Yellow for Mental Health’, Anti-Bullying Week and the Poppy Appeal. Alongside this, students have worked with senior leaders to contribute ideas to our catering team, teaching and learning team and supported our local community.
